Even though I know better I had to use the 685 s2's as true 'bookshelfs' the last couple of months, but got the proper B&W FS700 stands today, and was once again blown away at the difference they can make... The slightly substandard imaging and muddy bass is now gone and the S2's sound proper HiFi again, The B&W's appear even more sensitive to stand requirements vs other speakers I've had - that little D3020 can give some impressive 'lows' when the speaker is well controlled by the stands too (like the amp more and more) Stands: what a cost effective great upgrade!
