I have googled this and I don't think JRiver have solved this issue, so hoping someone here can help:
When I play from Tidal (via Roon or direct from web) to the JRiver WDM sound device, there are a number of clicks and pops at the beginning of a track, and always some stuttering. It is some sort of of handshaking issue caused when opening a new stream each time a track is opened from Tidal
Has anyone got this to get better by:
- changing buffer settings
- upgrading to Windows 10 (I am on Win 7)
- using a different player (HQPlayer, which BTW Roon seems to have picked)
I did read on the JRiver forum that their developers don't get on with the Tidal ones and plan to never directly integrate. So I don't think they are actively working on the WDM issue
