Folks , I would like to know if there is someone who can repair a broken tonearm. My Linn LP12 fell off the shelf and the result of this was that section of the plinth cover was damaged and the tonearm was also damaged. I then took the turn table to HFX for repairs and was told that the tonearm was beyond repair and I they could fit an OEM RB 250 which is basically the same design and I agree to this. I collected the turntable last week and I was expecting the same or better results but I noted the following:
1)he treble was slightly better.
2) Bass was very shy. (Biggest disappointment). Much to my misery!!!!!
3) Musicality ( how does one define this) had disappeared. Again Much to my misery!!!!!
I did not realise how a tonearm can have such a profound effect on the sound of your turntable.
I would now like to find out from forum members the following:
1) Who has an Origin Live Mk1 for sale?
2)Who has any Origin Live tonearm for sale?
3) Who has a similar warm sounding big bass sounding tonearm for sale?
Any suggestions will be welcome.
