Went to fetch the Kappa's from Quadears on Friday evening.
Had a whiskey, wish I could have had some more :winkwink: , a quick listen and then headed home.
Set them up and started with Oom Leonard Cohen's "Old Ideas".
I have never ever ever heard Mids like this before and I will probably get :whip: for this, again, but my B&W 683's could never manage this, even with the fancy yellow coned mid-range.
And this from a speaker that is basically 20 years old!! :notworthy:
I promptly proceeded to some classical Music (Beethoven's 5th) on Vinyl and all I can say is F#&% IT!!! I have been missing out all these years, while looking for "that" balance in my sound - and now I finally found it.
Even in the oddly shaped room and ceiling I have.
I can only imagine what the Kappa 9's must sound like, but R15K is well out of my reach... :faint:
Downside: They do not handle the "Electronic" stuff, e.g. Depeche Mode, Deep Forest, Yello, etc. well at all and for this reason I am keeping the Castle Knights. :rubhands:
