Hi Guys,
I've got tears in my eyes right now.
I am in the process of resurrecting my home theater after months of disuse because of a power surge taking out all of my equipment.
I got a brand new AVR connected to a Rotel 985 power amp powering my Polk Rti A7 floorstanders. I've been playing around for a week and from the get go something did not sound right with my right front.
Even the calibration sounds was muffled.
I did not think much of it at first and that speaker is partially covered by a couch. When I played some stereo test tones it dawned on me that something is seriously wrong with that speaker.
I swopped the speaker terminals around to make sure it wasn't out of phase, but it is still very muffled.
All of the drivers are producing sound and I even ran it directly of the AVR without success.
How do I go about diagnosing and fixing the problem?
