I got a really nice surprise in Singapore, I went into a HI FI shop that had a really cheap valve amp, asking to listen to it, the owner pulled out a pair of new "Mistral LS3/5A" they had the BBC logo on them and apparently they are made to the exact standards of the later 11 Omh version. He turned on the system and I was stopped in my tracks, how can this mini monitor sound so amazing? I got a real education in great speakers. I have been doing some research on these and other versions from Rogers and Stirling, Spendor etc.
Have any of you ever owned a version of the LS3/5As? Or are there any of you that currently have a pair?
This may not be the most perfect speaker, but there is some real magic happening when you listen.
