Greetings all

I found this discussion on Reddit and since most of this stuff goes right above my head - I thought some knowledgeable members here may find it interesting. I have personally found that when I play (on Tidal via the Chromecast app) a high res version of an album, it always sounds much louder than its Atmos version - the volume difference is quite noticeable. I would really prefer they let me decide on this. When I had Audirvana subscription - I used to see this (you get to see the spectrum when playing a file) and it annoyed me quite a bit. You don't really feel when listening to music - but it feels like eating dinner when the Chef brings it and says "Sorry, this didn't come out right, but it's better than nothing". Even if he was just pulling your leg -it just won't feel right.
