Help Required: Active Sub Humming

Hi Gents.

I need some advise from the gurus. I have an active sub that hums the moment the subwoofer rca is plugged in. If the rca cable isn't connected to the receiver then there's no hum but if its connected to the receiver and then plugged into the sub the hum is there. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? Its a Velodyne VA1215XII and a Yamaha rxv2500
