List your cheap tweaks that work , lets say set a limit from Free to R1000... so nothing that costs more
Here's mine..add to the list...
1) Speaker positioning , toe in , tilt , speaker height on stands , listening chair positioning..free
2) Rearranging some furniture so that it acts as diffusor/absorbers ...free
3) Chosing between speaker spiking and isolation using some neoprene ..R100 for the neoprene material (wetsuit stuff)
4) Some DIY room treatment panels ..Probably R1000 for 2/3 of them
5) Clean line to hifi equipment , probably under R1000 tho could be more ..albeit you might be able to just plug some stuff on the same circuit into another .. might just cost you an extension lead...
6) Trace and cure rattles and buzzes..Free
7) Tightening up loose speaker driver holding bolts...free
8 ) Plug and unplug RCA's etc to restore good connections ...free
9) Detangle cables/interconnects ..may make a difference or not..but it looks better ..free
10) If you got curtains and blinds , try to listen with them drawn or closed/partially closed ..free
11) listen with speaker grilles on/off ..free
12) If you got ported speakers and muddy bass  , try stuffing them with various densities of stuff , for eg loosely balled cotton wool to a pair tightly balled socks ..mostly free
