I found this rather handy thing on a US website, its basically an extension lead that you plug a power tool into, switch the tool permanently on(ie locked ON either with the switch mechanism itself or a cable tie if its a momentary switch only) and then you can remotely power it on/off via a momentary footswitch, means you can focus on the work rather than fiddling with the switch. Versatile because the extension lead style means you can use it with virtually any power tool. If I can source just a compatible switch in SA then I can make my own up.
