What the majority of forumites have established in this forum so far, shall from this day forth be known as the 10 commandments of cables:

1. Differences in speaker cables are audible in certain high end systems, (probably not on a Dixon).
2. Thou shall not compare speaker cable carrying an analogue signal with HDMI or any other cable carrying a digital signal however named, to support your argument.
3. Both ripcord and solid silver whether thick or thin carries a signal and will therefore produce sound. In the same way in that a Hundai and a Ferrari burns petrol (Also refer to commandment 1).
4.  At the time of printing the price of silver was more than the price of copper and hence will cost more justifiably so or not. In the same way a Hugo Boss vest cost 10 times that of a PEP vest.
5.  If different speaker cables makes no difference in your system then you can consider yourself lucky, your'e not a cable guy or your system does not justify the extra expense. Congratulations take the money you saved and buy a better system.
6. Some cables are overpriced for their benefits, if you can afford them, buy them, if you can't don't, you can always fall back on a coat hanger, proven to work.(Also refer to commandment 4)
7. Some cable manufactures' marketing departments make bold claims altough unethical (who would have tought), it's marketing. Live with it.
8. You should not take research papers as the word of God. You should not take the rantings of a forumite as the word of God. Use your ears, if it sounds better to you, it is working for you.
9. Humans are inherintly idiots and blind testing should be best left for the bedroom and not for cable testing, it's been proven useless when testing audio components.
10.  Saying it's all about the music and not the equipment is something a politician would say- you are boring, please move on to another forum.
