This is not a review, just initial impressions based on many years of listening.

Took delivery today from Anton on the forum.
Speakers B&W 802D S1
Initially I ran a system with Classe pre-amp and CA2200 power amp. Was nice, but too smooth for me.
When the 802 got assigned for dedicated home theatre I sold the Classe stuff and just used a Marantz top end-ish receiver. Sound was so-so. Then added a Marantz poweramp. Marginal improvement.
Recently bought a new top end receiver (8012). Toroidal (sp) and the works. Used it without power amp. According to reviews it should sing for 2 channel music. It did not. Obviously could go loud, but not enjoyable.
So in comes the Rotel power amp.
Wow. I do not have the fancy words for it, but wow, The bass, clarity and balance is amazing.
