So, I have been using my Exclame paired to Sonor Audio Vegas for a time and the synergy between the Exclame and the Vega's is fantastic. Last night I decided to try something different. I had purchased Rotel RC 1580 from a forum member a while ago and had to date not even switched it on. Anyway i connected it to the RB1080 and hooked up the speakers and CDP. Boy, was I surprised, I was not sure what i was expecting but I definately expected the Vega's to sound harsher than they did. Maybe not as musical as the Exclame but also not at all fatiguing, to be honest I am enjoying the sound. Now, is it just a case of a change is as good as a holiday or is the RC1580 as a pre that good. The exlame paired with a graham slee is sublime and I have not yet tried the phono stage on the 1580 but overall I am presently surprised.
