Please, mine is busy going.
I only need one, but two will be better.
I can courier from anywhere.
Please PM me if you can help or know someone who does.

Felix, according to my spreadsheet, I should have one. Trouble is trying to find it in my 'cluster' of valves. Please send me a WA (you should have my number) and I will delve into the abyss tomorrow.

Felix, were you able to acquire one or two from KK or Charles? If not, I'll keep searching - tonight I'll probably be dreaming of weird and wonderful valves...

I have re-branded NOS RCA 6080's - Heintz & Kauffman that I intend testing this week , and then putting up for sale .

Anybody interested can contact me .

Glad I could help you Ari, I came across these while searching for a 6080 for CC that was in my list, but no longer in my stash of valves.

Unfortunately not FD. KK did supply me with some other nice valves though. Appreciated, but not urgent, I have a drawer full of valves, but only one Mullard.

Pushing my luck now, any Tungsol 5998 valves available? That would be super nice! Only need one for my amp.

Mullard never made any 6080's to my knowledge the ones that are stamped mullards are either Philips ECC230 or rebranded GEC Hammersmith tubes.

I prefer Tung-Sol 6080's

I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, the TV output PL36 is quite similar to one half of a 6080 in terms of mu and cathode current, there was a special quality derivative that was topcap-less and much more expensive, E235L.

In any case PL36 could and should make a nice headphone amp.

[member=24540]V4lve Lover[/member] thanks for the info, I did not know that. I will extend my search  :groovy: I don't have a Tung-Sol 6080 but if their 5998 reputation is anything to go by, I would love to try one too. Any offers?

6080s seem pretty affordable, but I can't find a Mullard for less than 60 British Pounds.
Are the French Thomsons any good?

Yes they are. but mind you your working with a series stabilizer valve. I like to use them in their original application. Nothing like regulating all the voltages in an amp.
