Funny little experiment

On the weekend we had to paint a small area of the ceiling above where my system is and so I moved my speakers into a really random position, breaking all the rules. Close to walls etc...

Decided to have a listen and was still impressed. For the most part they disappeared, the soundstage was wide, singers still looked normal.

Are we chasing unicorns?
