Moog has asked me to make a plinth for him for his Garrard 401.

The setup is as follows:

Motor Unit: Garrard 401
Main tonearm: A Jelco SA-750LB 12" arm
Additional Tonearm space: I have drilled/milled for a Rega (3 point or nut) to be mounted in addition to the main arm location
Plinth: Gluelam Birch ply wrapped in Buinga with a Bubinga armboard and a MDF base...
Dustcover: Acrylic/perspex  vacumm formed dust-cover with some hinges salvaged off a SME 2000 plinth system.

The plinth is coming along. I have started the final preparation for adding finish (NC laqueur and Woodoc 10)...

All layers cut but not glued yet..

All glued-up with the holes for the tonearm and the tonearm board all added... If Moog decides to change the arm at some stage there is enough space to hang a wide range of arms (10" to 12") and a spare armboard that can be milled for another arm...

The to-do list is still longggggg.......
