Message from a mate of mine who does music production - mainly deep downtempo jazzy house.
Martin is coming this week to check the room for acoustic treatment, apparently?
My room is 3m x 3,1m and 2,5m high. With no acoustic treatment on the walls and nothing to absorb
reflections.
A lot of my mixdowns have come out bottom heavy on a club system i think because:
1). The room is acoustically untreated and the frequencies are all clashing and thus
I'm trying to over-compensate for the lows that I can't hear.
2). I don't have a sub in my room, just a pair of KRK 5" monitors (active) whose frequency
response ranges from 45Hz to 35kHz.
So I need advice on what room treatment to get and whether I should get a sub or not, and if
so which one would you recommend? Would I then also have to get a pair of new monitors
which aren't active? Or can I combine a sub with the KRK 5"s?
The room treatment should be sorted out this week so the question would be about the SUB.
Get a sub or not?
Which Sub?
