Great build, been wanting to build a pair for a long time now, but I have been distracted by Mark Audio full range drivers. Sure it is going to be a Giant Killer :clap:

I am seriously keen, seen a few interesting builds on the cheap overseas. Lets hope we have a reasonable supply of drivers to work with. :thumbs:

Hey Guys I have had my eye on these for quite some time, I went to Hi Fi Corp (Fourways) a few weeks ago and did not see them there, which Hi Fi Corp has them? I have read the reviews and they seem to be quite the upset in the industry. Some have said the bigger Tower speakers really take it...

:thumbs: , I agree. with this post. Never happy always looking the next upgrade (can become an obsession, chasing the ghost). At the end of the day, it is about the music and the more I listen I realise that no matter how good your system is, a bad recording will never sound amazing and well...

Hello Peoples I have come across this little legend it seems, what are the thoughts of the community regard the sound quality of this solid state amp? Not too worried about the power it puts out (32 watts at 8 Ohms). Would it be worth the spend if I can get it for under R2000? Internet...

Thanks for the Input. The Continuum kit designed by Jeff Bagby really interests me, alot of people are saying these are a great upgrade to the original, they are available as a kit at Meniscus Audio in the US and sell for under $400 USD. As for the Mistral, they have a real BBC logo on them...

Hello I got a really nice surprise in Singapore, I went into a HI FI shop that had a really cheap valve amp, asking to listen to it, the owner pulled out a pair of new "Mistral LS3/5A" they had the BBC logo on them and apparently they are made to the exact standards of the later 11 Omh version...

Thank you to the community for this input. I will have to make a decision as to what I want to do so as I am leaving for my trip in just over a week. Will let you know what I decide to try (or not to try).

Thanks for the info. It seems not many have walked this path, when I heard a very small Mark Audio 4inch I knew there was something special going on (in a rear loaded horn setup) . I just wanted a little more in the bass department (but not a lot more). Tangband have a design for a rear horn...

Hello fellow audiophiles I am very interested in a diy full range build, I was wondering if anybody has any experience with these, preferably 6-8 inch drivers. I am really interested in Tangband w8 1772. Would love to hear your input on your diy projects and how they turned out. :thinking:

Your amps are amazing, had a jmp 100, sold it before I know what is was really worth. Love the wreck and the rest of the Marshalls. Lovely stuff.

I only read this thread now. These speakers are not the easiest things to get right, gear synergy is very important. Also the house sound of the audio physics takes some time to get used to as it seems very neutral and natural sounding. It really does not help with average and poor recordings...

These speakers should be awesome, the driver combo seems impressive. Hope that 20 week wait comes before you know it.

You really nailed this wreck build  :dop: A master piece, would love to hear it in action. Let me know if you tried it with 6v6s as I am curious as to how it sounds with 6v6 tubes. Congrats :clap:
