As I understand it is that ceiling board reflects bass. You will basically have to leave a (big) hole in your bulkhead ceiling, then you fill it with rockwool/treatments and cover with a material. As you say there must be some sort of acoustically clear material that is white to cover it with.

Especially at the price the 1092 is going for I would much rather take the 1090, if I can find one.
