I was thinking of getting a Google Chromecast Audio as part of my rather simple system - I want to use it to to cast Tidal lossless into my Maverick TubeMagic D1 DAC. At the moment I can only get lossless by plugging my laptop in. Otherwise I stream via bluetooth from my phone or iPad via the optical out of a Philips AEA2700.
But there seem to be mixed opinions about the Chromecast (e.g. https://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,74585.msg883187.html#msg883187).
Bearing in mind that this is a very basic digital system (yes one day I'll get a "real" DAC and music server etc etc), what would the negatives be? It seems to me a simple and cheap way of getting going.
