Optical/Toslink Switch

Hey all. Need some advice here.

I have my Wiim Mini connected to my iFi Zen Signature One DAC via the optical cable.
I also have my Google Chromecast TV that is connected to my TV via HDMI pushing sound from the tv to the DAC via USB cable. The USB cable gives me popping sounds.
Now I found this toslink switch. Got decent reviews and looks to be much better quality than anything I can find locally on Takealot etc.

Will this unit affect my sound quality at all?
This will also solve the issue of constantly selecting USB or optical on the DAC with the auto-switching.
