I went to demo some floorstanding speakers a while ago at Audio Vision and was thinking I have to get a bigger amp

I was thinking to upgrade to a integrated stereo Yamaha 85 rms at 8ohm my current amp Rotel is 30 rms at 8ohm and the gentleman said I should rather keep the Rotel because it is a high-current amp which will handle the Boston floorstanding better than the Yamaha because it had a low sensitivity

Listening Music : Pop,Jazz
Listening Level : Not very loud, average volume

Now my question :
So I assume the extra rms only come in play at higher volume and higher sensitivity speakers
Is there some kind of convertion ratio to compare the Rotel against the Yamaha ?
If I listen average volume do I really need to upgrade or does it depend on the speaker sensitivity?

If some of these q's was answered before pls refer me to that thread, tried to search but could not find anything
