Would you buy hifi equipment on Ebay?

I am looking at putting in a bid on some hard to find hi-fi stuff on the Bay of Fleas. Not too worried about the quality of the product itself, but am concerned about affirmative shopping by snoopy customs officials along the way.

Have any of you done it successfully and would you recommend it? Item is covered by Ebay's Global Shipping programme - not sure if that helps.
