What PC software for playback?

Guys

I was posed a question by a IT/tech buddy what is THE best playback software for digitized music on computers.

Since 2005 I have been using iTunes without feeling the need to use anything else. On occasion I have used Foobar a bit but I dont find it as user friendly as iTunes. And Windows Multimedia Player... enough to make me stick my fingers in an electric pencil sharpner.

Let this not be a bashing thread but rather post your opinion of the BEST playback software and a short reason why you prefer it.
