I had a slowly dying Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. Less and less apps were working as time went by.
The last OEM ROM was Android. 4.4 (IIRC) The Infrared remote worked with Anymote from the Playstore. I bought the full version.
I rooted it years ago and installed CM 11 & later CM 12 ... Android 5.5 ..... more apps ran but there was no built in IR with 5.5 anymore.
I lived with that for a few years.
In desperation I installed Lineage OS 14 (Android 7.1.2) a few weeks ago.
What a breath of fresh air !!!!
Phone is more responsive and the IR now works as well !!
I installed ASmart Remote IR from the playstore.
The S4 can trip the shutter on the old Nikon D70 again.
It now controls the Samsung TV .... select inputs etc.
But HOW ..... can I get it to talk to the Android smart box ?
The box has Semtec on the label underneath, but there is no Semtec on the ASmart Remote database.
Is anyone using this app with a Semtec box ?
