So let's see how's this problem has a solution
I literally gave up
Installed an Onkyo Stereo amp at a client
The amp has Rca, Optical and Co-Axial inputs
Samsung Smart tv Optical out into Onkyo Optical In
There was no sound or a scratchy noise
OK so I tried different cables etc still nothing
Put in a Blue Stream Digital to Analog converter, same problem
Quickly connected a AV Receiver problem solved but unfortunately I sold the client a Stereo amp for his application and he wasn't prepared to spend more
Is there a solution someone has found or should we just let sleeping dogs lay
