Thought it might make for an interesting playlist if we listed songs that are standouts to us in terms of some aspect of the song really making hi-fi shine. Not looking for the typical listing of audiophile reference tracks, but rather tracks you've encountered in everyday listening that for some reason made you sit up and take notice. Perhaps they're songs you knew well and when you first listened on a good hi-fi you discovered a whole new world of detail you had no idea existed.
Here's one for me - Fleetwood Mac - Rumours: Go Your Own Way
I've always liked the album and the track but never quite appreciated just how good a rhythm section John McVie & Mick Fleetwood comprise. Probably the most muscular, driving rhythm section I've heard as this song ably demonstrates. As Mauritz Lotz would say, "play it loud!" As an aside, ever noticed Lindsay saying "f!ck" under his breath right at the beginning of The Chain on the same album?
