I know most people view social media, in particular Facebook, as a waste of time and effort. In fact there are a number of people on this forum who vehemently denounce & deride it.

How about a good news story then?

A truck was hijacked in Vaal Triangle area yesterday around lunch time. It's a horse box - Toyota Hino 15-528 non articulated. With two horses in it.

Shout out goes on Social Media, tracking company & SAPS are notified.

At around 17h30 yesterday afternoon a lady driving in Springs, returning home after having ridden her horse at a local stable yard, spots a truck parked in a field. She thinks it's an odd sight as it is out of the ordinary & continues home.

A while after arriving home she decides to check Facebook & sees the post about the stolen truck (by then the post from the owner had been shared & re-shared around 500 times via the horsey community). She thinks it looks just like the one she saw in the field en route home, so hops in her car & goes to have another look. She doesn't call anyone, nor let anyone know about what she's seen until she gets to the truck all alone, sees that it is indeed the truck with the horses still inside!
She then phones the stable yard where her horse is & they come & get the horses out - whilst waiting for them she calls SAPS too.

A great good news story & a brave lady to boot!
