I've just acquired an Asus Xonar STX PCiE soundcard , which has apparently brilliant DAC ( Burr-Brown PCM 1792A ) , and interchangeable opamps ( stock is TI 6120A2 x3 ) for Headphone out or RCA out . I intend pairing this with a 70's Dual amp & maching Dual speakers for my PC sound ( my stereo setup revolves mainly around turntables and there's no DAC around ) . So the PC setup will be my digital plaything .
I should also mention that the dual amp does sound very good with good T/T or cd player .
What do you reckon ?
Has anybody here played with swapping out opamps on these ? I've looked around a bit on the net and results seem to be good with LME49720 .
