Before I get to the advice needed I would like to give you some info.
I built a pair of Audio Innovations EL34 amps and this by far has been the best amps I have used in my system to date BY FAR!!!!!
I used a power transformer I had made at ACDC and I used output transformers I bought from RS Components.
This being said I have tried MULTIPLE amps in my system before these. To name a few:
NAD
Pass Labs
Luxman
Music Fidelity
Gunter Steinhardt
Paradigm (Baby amp but wanted to test the ARC features)
JR Tube Audio
These are just the ones off the top of my head in the last 18-24 months.
None sound as good as the DIY EL34's
I'm wanting to tackle my next project and I'm looking for some advice. When I built my amps I heard the EL34's and liked them enough try and am still in awe every time I listen.
So after being very long-winded here my question is as follows.
Are there EL84 circuits out there that are substantially better than others or are they all kinda much of a muchness? I have been researching a bunch of circuits and I'm trying to settle on a design so I can put a parts list together.
Some advice on this would be great.
