Some help from the KEF Fundi's please.
Got myself a set of Reference Model 1's, always wanted a set actually.
These will occasionally be listened to critically in the next six months or so. So the question is, how does one typically set up these with Uni-Q drivers to image well. I'm not gonna go into detail about the room, lets just say its a 7m x 4.2m and these will fire longitudinally. More than powerful enough amp on the leash.
Compared to other typical dynamic speakers with non-coaxial / horn loaded mids and tweeters, how do one go about it?
One thing I already did is to lift them on-top of some Pelican cases, as the Model 1's are ridiculously short. On top of the big Pelican cases (loaded with some bricks ), the image at least has realistic height.
I'll be playing around with it the next couple of days, but a good nudge in the right direction will help narrow down the iterations.
Thanks.
