A friend on Reunion Island has a system in a big studio space and felt his system wasn't "big enough" for the room.
He also wanted to get away from boom shake the room subwoofers with the lag/overhang he experienced.
DIY 40w puch-pull tube amp, Jean Marie Reynaud Cantabile Signature speakers. These seem like very nice speakers indeed.

So, he and an electronics friend built an infraflex sub. He's loving it. Goes low, fills the space , tight, dry and "airy".
They fitted a crossover into the amp, so the speakers only handle from 75hz up.

Simple to make. A used basic 38cm speaker with big magnet, 2cm thick polystyrene, a yoghurt container, a 1x1m frame- 20 cm deep. Cheap 60w Class D amp. Cost him less than Euro 250, including screws and polystyrene glue etc.

Googling doesn't give much info. There's this, but the Google Drive links seem to be broken.

Anybody have any experience?
I've asked him for more info but know that he's super busy at the mo.
