My folks who are insured through Alexander Forbes have recently have a large lighting strike and lost many appliances.
The policy with Alexander Forbes is to repair and all repairs are authorised through the agents. However for certain appliances if it is non-viable to repair, a case can be presented for replace.
There are a few such appliances which have been damaged such as a 1990s Sony CRT Television, Kitchen Radio etc.
They are looking for an independent person to state that these appliances are not repairable and recommend replacement. Essentially issue an assessment of the sorts on the state of them.
