Have a small problem and would like some advice.
Ordered and paid for an xda 1 and some cables from emotiva through paypal. My package has been held up by customs for over a week and on Friday I was informed by Fedex that customs has requested my invoice and proof of payment.
Fedex have subsequently informed me that emotiva have underdeclared the value of the purchase - i paid USD418 and they declared USD125.
As a result therof there are now additional vat and duties based on the actual value as well as a penalty of R1500 + 10% under entry in vat.
Has his ever happened to anybody else? What normally happens in this situation - am I liable for the penalties as well.Just not sure what to do now...................
