Hi guys.
Apologies if this is a very basic or obvious question but I'm not too clued up on DSTV stuff.
My decoder has a Dolby Digital logo, so I'm assuming it's DD capable.
However I've only ever had it plugged straight into the TV (via HDMI) so never used that capability.
Do these decoders output 5.1 DD over HDMI, SPDIF, or both?
I've read that the HDMI audio is downmixed stereo and that only the SPDIF will send the full 5.1 channels.
Then again, is it even worthwhile? I.e. what percentage of their content actually has a 5.1 track?
The decoder's model number is: "HD PVR 2 P".
