bookshelf's and vintage speaker fronts with avr for movies?

Hi Guys,

Is it a good idea or worth it placing book shelfs on top of vintage speakers using as fronts only with avr for movie sound?

Vintage speakers are Isophons and bookshelf's are wharfedale 10.1's.
