I'd like to build a small valve stereo amp with 6BM8 valves and the  transformer and OPT from a Pioneer SX410. Was thinking of using this schematic:  (lh-electric.net)

Questions:

1.  Value for C1 is .22uF, any other values to consider? Can it be left out of the circuit?
2.  Any other basic schematic to consider?
3.  Can the volume pot be replaced with a 100kOhm pot?  Linear or logarithmic pot for volume?

As far as the transformer goes:

Which are primary/secondary windings?
