I should add that with the exception of Wavpack and DRM'd M4A, the Mede8er decodes just about every audio format out there, including 24-bit FLAC. As an all-in-one device, it works more than just tolerably well; plus it's one of the few media streamers that has coax out.

Just about all my audio and video travel via a Mede8er to my two-channel system. A network cable in the ceiling connects the hard drives in my study to the system in the lounge. I'm happy with this arrangement, but lately I've been wondering if I'm doing a disservice to the digital audio passing...

That Belden (which I bought from Blue Jeans Cable) is amazing for things like balance, detail and soundstage. As I said earlier, it's just that it doesn't quite foreground vocals sufficiently (according to my taste, anyway).
