An interview with Robert Harley, then still with Stereophile in 1992, and Mike Moffat ( Theta Digital) and we all know where he is currently.

Some of the things discussed then still bothers us to this day and we can read about his take on :

  • Tubes vs solid state;
    • The effects of DSP filters on spatial qualities;
    • Tonal aspects of frequency and time domain performance;
    • Role of measurements in designing and things not commonly measured that affect sound. Also his take on RF, grounding, etc, and their effects;
    • Some people not hearing or not wanting to hear differences;
    • Components, wires and their effects on sound quality and
    • The importance of using live acoustic music as a reference
