Hello all,

new to this forum and looking for some advice surrounding upgrading my speakers.
Currently i have a Yamaha Aventage RX-A750.
it is the baby Aventage with 7.2 or 5.2 and zone 2.

i use my zone 2 speakers only once in a blue moon.
so i am thinking of rather redirecting the power to a good set of floor standing speakers.

currently i have a lesser known brand. Audio Pro Avante 5.0 speakers coupled with a Polk DSW Pro 660 Sub.
they have done well. and were fine when i stayed in my apartment. but my current house is all open . plan. the kitchen, dining room and living room are all in one. so now these do not quite fit the bill for filling the space - that i feel its time for something better.

currently i have the option to buy to following new:

Klipsch RP280F floor standing speakers coupled with a RP440c center - R24000 for those.
i'll make do with my current surround speakers until i can upgrade them.

or something secondhand:

i've seen and enquired about a set of Monitor Audio GX300 speakers.
they will cost more than the Klipsch speakers but are a totally different price range if compared new.
this would then be step 1 in the upgrade process. i would then have to save up to buy a good centre speaker.

i am also open to other options.
thoughts?
