I've been using it for a few months.  Don't have much to compare it to,  functionality is basic but does pretty much everything I need. Simple which suits me.

It's LMS in a wrapper, should be fine with network storage

I am using it, the beta versions have ssh enabled.
Read only squashfs and gets regular kernel updates and USB DAC patches. Storage is on another Linux file system. Can mount ssh file system.

The web/phone browser interface is also quite neat.
