Idiotic Nedbank. Had a sh!tfit at them this morning.
For various reasons once a month or so my wife's occupation requires cash - notes in various denominations.
I, and sometimes other club members accompany/escort her for safety reasons.
This weekend R40k is needed, in a split of R200, R100 & R50 notes.
Arrive at the main branch this morning. Only to find it is closed for renovations. No notification or advance warnings sent out to any clients via mail. email or SMS. Just a note on the door.
Note directs us to an alternate branch. Off we go. Arrive, get to teller & alas, sorry, we do not have that much cash on hand. Could you come back later as it takes us 30 minutes to open the safe, but the person who can open it is on lunch & will only be back in half an hour.......
Walked around the corner in the same shopping centre to FNB. They had cash on hand. Drew it out my account & wife's company will pay it back.
WTAF? R40k is hardly a huge amount of cash - how can a bank not have it on hand?
