I don't know where on the board to ask this question and it is not audio related.

I'm busy building a Philips variac I bought from darrylo into a temporary metal enclosure and thought for safety's sake, to wire a 5A fuse into both the current in and current out looms. The two live wires (current IN and current OUT) have each been interrupted with a 5A fuse in a sturdy fuse holder.

The fuses and holders have been bought from Yebo and they only stocked 'slow blow' items. Will these fuses be OK for variac wiring applications?

There are many slow blow fuses of different amperages in my audio gear and I've never had damage due to using this type of fuse.

Eg time difference in milli-seconds before 'blowing' between slow blow and normal fuses?

Thanks

skollie
