C = value of capacitor in Farads
f = ripple frequency - twice the line frequency for a full wave rectifier .
Example:
Load resistance of 2 ohms
50Hz supply full wave rectification
Calculating: 2C in farads must be greater than 1/100
therefore 2c in microfarads must be > 10000
Therefore C must exceed 5000 microfarads.
