In my eyes, I have a 'nice mid level' CD player (Marantz CD17 MK2 KI Signature) and speakers (Elac 209 JET). However, these are partnered by a 'budget' AV amplifier (Marantz SR5600). The AV amplifier does have preouts though - and I intend buying a used power amplifier for my front channels.
If I added a 'nice mid level' power amplifier for my front channels, do you think there'd be a large increase in sound? Or would the processor section of the AV receiver still let down the quality mid level power amplifier?
