I am wanting to build a custom AV cabinet and would like some recommendations on wood to use. I have all the tools required (my father is a retired carpenter) so DIY shouldn't be a problem.
I do not want use flimsy chipboard for this as I want this to last me quite a while.
Timber should be at least 30mm think and be a width of 450mm with lengths of 1.5m.
Do you get wood as per the above, if so what type would it be.
Also where in Cape Town can I get a place that can supply this.
I checked out Eco Furniture but apparently they use wood that has been joined and not real solid wood thus I am not to keen.
Any suggestions guys.
Want to build something similar to this but totally open rear for ventilation.
