So with every headless PC build I do I always seem to hit a hurdle on WOL, It's like each setup needs it's own particular time in a little ray of sunshine. The sunshine being a hell of BIOS, Power & Network Adapter, and Regedit settings.
The WOL is normally integrated into Hassio, my home automation system.
I was doing a recent build where it would work but then stop after a few hours. In the back of my mind I actually always had a plan B, and this was the machine that pushed me to it.
The plan B Recipe is simple:
This: Sonoff Gate / Garage Wifi Smart Switch set to inching
Powered off the PC USB
In a small enclosure
wired in parallel to the power switch.
Obviously works like a charm.
...and before you say: "Have you tried x setting to enable..." Yes, yes, I have.
