I moved the speakers around a bit more and managed to shrink the valley a bit, it's basically back at at reference by 1.5kHz now. I must say, save for the bass ringing that comes in on certain tracks, the set-up as a whole is sounding pretty freaking good. By moving the speakers around I had gotten back a lot of the >5kHz sound that was dropping away very quickly previously. Amazing what getting it back does to how bass sounds! More fine details as well, but not too much at all. The overall response is still angled down nicely from 100Hz. So, to those who don't want to be bogged down in the technicalities...it can be tedious, but it's well worth it. I've done more to improve my sound in the past week than at anytime since moving into my mancave. Apart from killing the echo, of course. To add to that, the set-up is now closer to reference than I've ever had it, which is not going to be to everyone's taste - no romance here. ;)
