Good afternoon  all

So I've learnt a few things about shopping for TVs.

My Rands get me sod all, while this is hardly a huge supprise by any means, actually seeing what it does get me is disheartening.

The last TV I bought was years ago, 2009ish I think. When I went shopping then, I found the differences between TVs to be really remarkable.  Frankly it was quite easy, I understood how much I was prepared to pay and then chose the one that looked the best and went for it.  At that time, 40 inch Samsung Series 7.

So right now I've narrowed down to 2 TVs (but totally open to more knowledgeable ppl putting something else in the mix):

Samsung and LG

http://www.dionwired.co.za/televisions/lg-lg-55-uhd-tv-smart-with-webos.html    I cannot find reviews on the panel, anyone know if it's been re labeled for the "developing" market....?  :boxing:

Previously I've said I don't need smart functions much, but I have to admit I do like the Netflix app on the TV.

So the next thing to mention, is that I see that on the whole, forumites aren't to keen on LG panels.  Question really then is, at this price point does it really make much difference?

I was surprised to see that some of the UHD upscaling is actually pretty good

Will UHD upscaling mess with my gaming?  Would I be able to turn it off when gaming?  And would it really be any worse than my current Samsung?

The last thing I'd like to say is this, this is about as much as I'm probably prepared to spend on a TV, any other saving for toys will be aimed at a more serious dedicated stereo amp, so this is it in terms of price point.
