I received a Thorens TD150 mkii yesterday and upon lifting the platter I noticed that the sub platter was not a die-cast version but instead a resin version with smaller 7mm spindle, similar if not identical to the ones found on the td166 tables. Did any of the later model td150 mkii's ever come with a resin sub-platter? I had a look inside and the sub chassis is still original and the spindle bearing doesn't appear to have been modified, unless they press fitted a smaller diameter sleeve inside. :nfi:
It's not a major issue, although the larger diameter spindle is probably superior to the smaller diameter one. I am just curious if this is how it came from the factory of if it was modified.
